Princess Party Games for 5 Year Olds
Five year old girls have big imaginations and every single one of them thinks they are the most important princess in the land. If you're having a party, you want to have enough activities planned to keep that energy focused on fun.
Start out with a craft project by having each girl decorate their own princess crown. Keep it simple by buying plain party hats for each guest, and setting out streamers, stickers and markers for each girl to decorate with. Avoid glitter and glue (unless you love to clean!).
When each girl is a crowned princess, pick the birthday girl to start a game of "Princess Says," where the leading princess leads her subjects by making a guesture or movement that everyone must follow - but only is she prefaces the movement with "Princess says...." Anyone who makes a movement without the princess' approval cannot move on to the next round, and the winner is the next princess to make the rules.
Next, try a game of Musical Thrones. Set out enough chairs (thrones) for each girl, then take away one and start the music. Try using songs from classic Disney princess movies to keep with the theme. Stop the music at a random, and any princess who can't find a throne to sit on is out. Remove one throne after each round until only one is left. The winner is now the Queen! For an extra special touch, decorate the chairs with ribbon and streamers. These activities should keep all your princesses happy between presents and cake.
