The Cinderella movie tells tells the story of a young, beautiful girl. When she was a very young girl her father remarried. When her father died, her Step-mother, Madame Tremaine, didn't want the extra burden of caring for Cinderella, so she decided to make her a servant girl. She had to cook and clean for her step-mother and 2 step sisters, Anastasia and Drizella. When her chores, which included cleaning the cinders out of the fireplace, were done Cinderella would sit near the cinders...that's how she got her name. Cinderella had every reason to be sad, but she kept a happy attitude and a light heart. She awoke every morning with a smile on her face. Her friends were mice and they loved Cinderella because she was so kind. One fine morning, there came a royal decree from the castle. It seems the King and Queen wanted to have a ball in honor of the prince. They were inviting all eligible maidens to come. The prince was to choose his bride. The Step-sisters knew that the prince would choose one of them for his queen. Even Cinderella was excited to go. After all, the invitation said "all eligible maidens." Her only problem, was that she didn't have a dress to wear and she had so many chores. Her Step-mother told her if she could manage all her responsibilities she could attend the ball. Cinderella had a dress that belonged to her mother, but when she put it on the sisters ruined it. Then her step-sisters kept her so busy, she didn't have time to fix her dress. They drove off without her and she sat in the garden crying. Suddenly, she saw a little light. It was her Fairy Godmother! Cinderella was so surprised. The fairy godmother waved her magic wand and created a coach from a pumpkin. She dressed Cinderella in a beautiful new dress complete with glass slippers. There was one rule that Cinderella needed to follow. She had to be home by midnight because the magic would wear off by then. When she got to the ball, Cinderella was by far the most beautiful person there! The prince was so amazed by her beauty. He danced with her all night. They were still dancing when Cinderella heard the stroke of the midnight bells. She ran quickly away. In her haste, she dropped one of her glass slippers. The prince found it and vowed that whoever fit in the slipper would be his bride. The prince went to every home in the kingdom. When he got to Cinderella's house, Anastasia and Drizella were fighting over who got to try on the slipper first. In their arguing, they broke the glass slipper. The prince was so devastated! But Cinderella heard the commotion. She had the other slipper. She put it on her foot and the prince scooped her up, and they lived happily ever after.
